NoSQL Family: Part 2

Hadoop is one word closely associated with Big Data. Its an Apache Open Source project, initially started at Yahoo!. Its quickly grown to become a defacto standard for processing massive volumes of data. Most of the Fortune 500 companies are already on Hadoop or experimenting on it. Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse, Data Mining, Social Networks all use Hadoop.

Tons of new Open Source projects added to the Hadoop ecosystem. Hive, HBase, Sqoop, Pig, Mahout, Flume, Kafka, Giraph are some of the most popular ones. In this talk, we will discuss some of these projects. To wind up, we will do code walk-thru and a demo of a few applications that I have built over them.
