July: Groovy Developments
Due to popular demand, we have another Groovy talk!
Groovy began as a dynamic language tightly integrated into the Java platform and ecosystem. In this talk we'll see how Groovy has evolved with a number of novel features and useful enhancements, and developed its own ecosystem. And, in turn, how it now affects the evolution of the Java system itself.
We'll use a fast-paced format of examples along with a number of observations. We hope to see:
- Native JSON support with RESTful web services
- GPars for concurrent computations
- DSL syntax developments
- Gradle build system
- Scripting goodness with Grapes
- Groovy performance improvements
- Groovy++: Even better performance?
